Protest Against HRW

Indian police detains activists of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front during a protest rally in Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian Kashmir, 10 December 2007. Dozens of separatists made an abortive bid to reach a small United Nations office in Indian Kashmir but police barricaded them and detained dozens. Since the 1990s, the disputed Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir has been hit by confrontation between armed separatists and the Indian army, which has left more than 42,000 people dead by official count. Human rights groups put the death toll at 60,000, with another 10,000 missing.

Kashmir Budgam Encounter
